Camera and gaze data
The app uses your device's front camera to detect eye position for hands-free selection. This processing happens entirely on your device in real time. We do not record, save, upload, or share camera images, video, or gaze data.
App content
Any phrases you customize are stored locally on your device so the app can work for you. They are not sent to us.
The app does not require an account, and it does not collect your name, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers.
2. Information the Website Collects
If you request the app through the download form on our website, you may choose to provide your email address and your role (for example, person with ALS, caregiver, or clinician). We do not ask for your name or your organization.
We collect this only when you enter it yourself. It is kept in a private spreadsheet that only the project team can access.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide you with download links and setup support.
- To send occasional updates about the app, if you asked for them.
- To understand, in aggregate, who is using EYEUM so we can improve it.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
4. Data Storage and Sharing
Information you submit through the website is stored using Google services (Google Sheets and Google Apps Script). Google processes this data as our service provider. We do not share your information with anyone else except where required by law.
5. Children's Privacy
EYEUM is intended for use by people with communication needs and their caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that requires consent we have not obtained. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we will remove it.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you submitted through the website at any time. Because camera and gaze data never leave your device, there is nothing for us to delete on that side.
